Birds of a Feather Reduce Stress Together!

Salaam (peace)

One of several advantages of waking up early is in hearing birds starting the day with their morning chirps, whistles and calls.

The spiritual side of me, says they are doing this as a form of praise to the creator.

The other side...well let's just keep that soothing first thought.

As the melody continues from on high between the trees and roof tops; one can also hear the morning call of the occasional rooster below.

No doubt, many whom had awaken with the desire to consume fish or lamb were subliminally influenced to switch to Nasi Ayam (chicken rice) as a result of the overly enthusiastic rooster.

Perhaps, they should learn how to "quack" like a duck to send a different message.
...

But, I've digressed

As the darkness gives way to the dawn the ever so energetic birds start to take to flight.

Some fly off in search for food for self, family or take to wing in search of companionship.  Still, others you see flying, soaring, darting in and out around and about as if getting their bodies and winds well lubricated for the days' activities.

Or maybe, it's part of a playful good morning ritual!

Whichever the reason; when you observe them (and I encourage all to take time out to do just that) you don't notice the worry on their beaks that you see on many faces at the start of the day.

I wonder, is there a bird botox that they are injected with at night to hide their worries?

Frankly, I don't know and they're not saying or singing!

What we do witness are those creatures, like all others (beside) man going about their day instinctively knowing that their needs are provided for.

Knowing that out there is food, water and materials for lodging.

Perhaps, they actually do what that once popular song spoke of...

Don't Worry be Happy!

When I think over it; I've never seen a bird worry!

Salaam (peace)

Fast foods, Fat profits...a Shut Your Mouth Video!

Dear Friends,

Please thoughtfully comprehend the implications of the following video and ask yourself:

Is this fast food craze happening in my society?

Is this happening to those I care about?

More importantly.... Is it happening in Me?

Now, take a look in your refrigerator and at the choices you make the next time you eat out.

Ask yourself...

Is It Worth It?

Organic Living For Personal and Environmental Health!

As-Salaam Alaikum

When we think of a green sustainable organic environment we normally think of our outside surroundings

No littering, no water /air pollution and no wastage. Only using what is required.

However, there is an environment which often goes overlooked or let’s say over indulged. That is our internal (body) environment.

In a past article (Are we eating to live or dying to eat) ; I wrote about the problems associated with over eating.

Having covered that; I would like to now take things a step further and look at an “Organic Lifestyle

When we consider the term organic; thoughts of food come to mind. Much in the same way when we discuss “Halal”; Muslims often think of the way animals are slaughtered before being prepared for consumption.

An organic lifestyle takes into consideration everything from head to toe, inside and out of the body.

The idea is to have the internal in balance with the external.

Therefore, we should only consider products which are ecologically friendly while having foods ingested serve to energize, strengthen and put your body in optimum health. The way Allah (The Creator) meant it to be.

To Achieve the best results to optimize ‘Mind, Body and Soul’ is to seek advice (if you are not achieving it already) from those who not only ‘Talk the talk’, but ‘Walk the walk’.

If the person perporting to assist you in living an other than healthy lifestyle; my advice would be to find someone who is alive with passion for what they are promoting.

There is no better time than now to start an organic approach to life.

It's good for you and it’s good for the environment.

Self Hypnosis to Reach Your Goals!

As-Salaam Alaikum

In a previous article “How to Keep Intellectually Fit”:
http://twmca.wordpress.com/2009/06/02/how-to-keep-intellectually-fit/

I wrote about some easy ways to build up one’s brain.

Today, I will discuss an area that have a passion for and which I have assisted others achieve some breakthroughs in their lives.

This passion is hypnosis therapy/counseling.

As a licensed hypnotherapist , I work with clients to help them locate solutions and to develop their goals.

Hypnosis works together with the individuals subconscious mind to find valuable resources that can be utilized to assist one to solve problems, overcome fears, change habits and to enhance performance to name a few.
One may ask; is hypnosis a magic cure all? To this I answer…No is isn’t.

However, as we continue to learn about the potential of the mind, we can also explore even more elegant ways to use hypnosis.

On a lighter note and to briefly show the power of one’s mind please view the following short video.

Note: During a therapy or counseling session, those more amusing things which are in the video do not take place.

Another question I am often asked is with respect to Self Hypnosis!

Given the growing interest, I am more than happy to provide some brief instructions.

1. Sit or lie down in a comfortable position

2. Tell yourself (subconscious mind) what you would like it to help you with and to provide solutions, mental resources etc.

3. Decide when you want to end the self hypnosis session (after 15min, 30min etc)

4. Take in a deep breath and let it out slowly as you focus on becoming relaxed.

5. Count backwards from 20 to 1 or 50 to 1 while allowing that feeling of relaxation to flow through you.

Note: Some people find that soft music is conducive to entering a hypnotic/trance state.

6. When you wake up take a deep breath and enjoy the rest of your day.

In Closing; this very simple self hypnosis method should assist you in making the significant changes that you are seeking.
All the best!
